JARDIN ST JAMES BAGUETTE POP-UP
Bastille Day celebrations might over for this year but that doesn’t mean we can’t keep enjoying gooey raclette on crunchy baguettes all winter long. Swing by Jardin St James’ Potts Point pop-up for Little Marionette coffee and a baguette filled to the brim with pickles, cured meats and cheesy goodness. You can thank (or rather, merci) us later.

FIESTA AT MEJICO
It’s fiesta time at Mejico in celebration of National Tequila Day so grab your amigos for a night of crunchy corn chips, fruity sangria and eat your weight in tacos. Give the tequila wheel a big ol’ spin to create your own DIY margaritas with juuuust the right amount of salt around the rim. Because the only thing better than Croatian yacht week is a Cabo beach party, right? Right.

BEST OF BRITISH DEGUSTATION AT NEL. RESTAURANT
London’s calling and nel. has answered with an eight-course British degustation fit for the Queen. Famous for their delicious menu that changes every six weeks chef Nelly Robinson is all about creating dishes that are as beautiful as they are unexpected.
Serving up proper comfort food inspired by drizzly British winters, but with a quintessential Surry Hills twist—think onion mash potato dipped in nori tempura, cauliflower couscous coated in cheese custard and a brioche crumb, and deconstructed banoffee pie it’ll be food comas all ‘round (they had us at cauliflower cheese, TBH).

Explore the Greek Islands without the Santorini sunburn or Mykonos migraine (you know it’s true) with the new winter menu at 1821. Haloumi lovers don’t look any further than the saganaki (FYI, it’s another kind of fried cheese) and we also have our eye on the apple pie bougasta for dessert. Just like a visit to Yiayia’s house, you won’t be leaving hungry.

Get ready for a double whammy of foodie delights from our friends at Mekong. Combining limited edition craft beers with your fave Indochine curries, this month’s five-course meal pairs three Cambodian-style curries with a handful of Akasha Brewing Company beers for the perfect winter feed. Think of it like a wine pairing, but without any of the formalities. Keep an eye out for more Mekong events as they pair up with Young Henrys, Four Pines and Batch Brewing Co.

A whole feast dedicated to cheese? Yes please. This weekend is your last chance to try all of the cheese (and all of the wine). Cheese experts (how do we get that on our LinkedIn?) will be hosting master classes so you can learn the answers to all of life’s important questions.
Like what’s the real difference between camembert and brie? Is blue cheese meant to be that mouldy? Is it physically possible to eat a whole wheel of cheese in one sitting? Asking for a friend, obvs.

Flow Athletic are known for mixing up your regular yogi flow, and this time they’ve slowed it waaaay down to a whole other level of calm (as if yin yoga wasn’t already relaxing enough). 1917: THE GREAT STRIKE EXHIBITION
Ever wondered what Carriageworks was like before it became the exposed brick backdrop for fashion blogger photo shoots and some of Sydney’s coolest events? This free exhibition commemorates the centenary of one of Australia’s largest industrial conflicts where thousands of railway workers put down their tools to protest World War 1 working conditions. 
Historical pieces like union banners, photographs and films are on display alongside commissioned artworks by contemporary artists. Up your culture game and squeeze a little bit of learning in between all your brunching and bar hopping this weekend.
