Many renters have experienced the struggle of trying to personalise a property without making permanent changes, as ultimately cost for any damage will come out of a tenants pocket. Here are some easy and non-permanent ways to style up your home!
Greenery
Not only are plants excellent decor but they are proven to create a calming, healthy atmosphere.
Curtains
Most curtains are easily interchangeable and adding your own style and colour can really help add personality to a home. Just be sure to keep the original curtains so the property can be easily restored to its previous state at the end of a tenancy.
Rugs
Maybe you love the property but hate the flooring? Rugs are an easy way to cover any unsightly marks or stains. Added bonus, it protects the existing floor!
Wall decor
Whilst in most properties any screws or drill holes in walls are prohibited, adhesive hooks can be a good solution. Always be sure to follow the weight guide on these hooks as overloading them can cause them to rip off the wall and damage the paint. Please note, any additional hooks must be removed at the end of a tenancy with no damage to the wall. Any damage caused by the removal of the hooks must be repaired by the tenant.
Shelving/storage
There are many stylish shelving options available that don’t need to be screwed into the wall, e.g. a wooden ladder. Perfect for extra storage or a great place to display your plants!
Accessories
Accessories are the finishing touch! Flowers, coffee table books, photos, vases, candles etc. are the easiest way to add a bit of personality to your home.
