As you walk along the Chowder Bay foreshore, be transported along the NSW coast from the Solitary Islands near Coffs Harbour, out to Lord Howe Island, down to Sydney Harbour, and along the South Coast through videos, interactive displays, coral samples and replicas and artwork. Then join in discussions with our researchers about the management of these precious marine resources.

Visitors will have the opportunity to take a virtual dive on the Great Barrier Reef and discover the connection between the Great Barrier Reef and our NSW coastal environments. Professor Iain Suthers will also present a short talk on the East Australian Current for visitors over light refreshments.

This event is jointly hosted by SIMS and UNSW Sydney. SIMS is a focal point for collaborative marine research that brings together scientists from Macquarie University, the University of Sydney, University of Technology Sydney and UNSW Sydney.

Researchers who will be available throughout the event for questions include:

Associate Professor Tracy Ainsworth (UNSW Sydney)
Dr Stephanie Gardner (UNSW Sydney)
Associate Professor William Figueira (University of Sydney)
Associate Professor Bill Leggat (University of Newcastle)
Dr Bridgitte Sommer (University of Sydney)
Professor Iain Suthers (UNSW Sydney)
Professor Jane Williamson (Macquarie University)
