The fabulous moon festival is symbolic of giving thanks to the moon, with the moon cake being the special food eaten in celebration. The round shape of the moon cake symbolises the reunion of a family and in present-day practice, the cake is given to relatives and friends to wish them a long and happy life.
The festival brings you all other types of delicious cuisine, fun tradition games like ‘Bo Bing‘, and a romantic speed dating game that sounds a lot like game show fun. You might just find your mister or missus ‘Right’. It’s definitely a day of fun for the whole family.
Hosted by the Australia Culture & Commerce Association, other events to look forward to include a children’s ballet, a children’s symphony, a national musical instrument performance, a Southern-style Hui’an dance, a Sichuan Opera Face Change, and a Han traditional porcelain, Jianye appreciate workshop that includes a DIY interactive session.
